The patient came in with severe pain in leg.
The patient was x-rayed and was advised to go for total knee replacement.
Standard knee replacement surgery does have its limitations. A
surgeon must implant the orthopedic device in such a manner that
its components – a metal and plastic platform atop the shin
bone and a metal surface on the bottom of the thigh bone –
rub together, or “articulate,” at precise angles in
order to prevent premature or excessive wear of the implant.
Even a slight error in component positioning and limb alignment
can result in inaccurate surgery. We make use of latest computer
assisted surgery which gives accurate surgery which helps surgeons
align the bones and joint implant with a degree of accuracy which
is not possible with the naked eye.
